Ch. Cohutta's Rising Sun of Park Ave     "Sampson"

“Sampson” was a wonderful dog and the cornerstone of the Dogue De Bordeaux produced by Floresta Farm.  He came to us through serendipitous circumstances for which we are forever grateful.

Being the first dogue de Bordeaux to pass all health testing procedures with flying colors “Sampson” proved it could be done when so many thought it was not possible.  These sought after characteristics are seen in his offspring today.  He is the father of many of the top hip rated dogs of record with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.  These include the first and only two Excellent Hip Scores from two of his daughters (littermates), and their other littermate who holds the tightest Penn Hip score as of now as well as an OFA hip rating of Good.

“Sampson” was the epitome of type.  His classic “European” type head combined with soundness was poetry in motion to watch.  For a dogue of his size, he never looked bulky or over done, he possesses the agility of a cat and could easily jump a four foot fence if he cared to.  Most of all he loved me and our family, going to work every day, guarding my truck, and my office (a job he took quite seriously).  He is deeply missed, I am happy to see a little of him in each and every youngster we have produced.  We do have frozen semen but it is not available for sale.
